We were coming home from the carwash in down town lakeport, CA we decided to take the back street instead of main street because it was during lunch hour. We were coming up over a hill and there was an older toyota pick up stopped to let a elderly pedestrian cross the road, we tried to stop but the brakes went out and then we hit the truck. no airbags deployed, but we werent hurt. unfortunately, the crash was right in front of the police station.
They came right out and made sure we were okay then were disbatched to a 3 car pile up 2 blocks away so we ended up not being cited or a report taken. we waited almost 2 hours for a tow truck. in the past before the accident, we had many problems with the brakes and had them checked by a chevrolet dealer and many other mechanics, but they all said nothing was wrong. 2000 chevy silverado Z-71 in april 2007 from Tyler E.
