Performance test public Roads Springfield, Massachusetts

This accident happened on Rocus Street in Springfield, Massachusetts on September 30th.

The small blue car was a Toyota Corolla that was actually a RACING car which competed in competitions. This car is a complete race car with a roll cage; Racing seat belt harness (which was not worn), high performance racing engine with a turbo booster, everything. Well, the operator of the vehicle was doing work on the car when he decided to take it on the road to "test" it. Well, the police department estimates that he was doing "in excess of 70 mph" but the pictures tell a different story.

As the Toyota was racing down the street at a high rate of speed, he lost control and stuck the parked silver Chevy Impala. Now there were 2 women and an 11 month old baby in the Impala and one of the women (the mother of the baby) was in the back seat, changing the baby's diaper, when the Corolla struck the Impala head on; flipping the Impala onto the roof, and pushing it (upside down) about 50 - 75 feet into a parked, Chevy 2500 Pick-up truck.

The driver of the Corolla, was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected through the windshield and died at the scene, while the 2 women and baby were thrown about inside the Impala. The 2 women were injured in the accident, but the baby is in critical condition with a severe head injury and at this point, they do not know if the baby is going to make it. I just read in todays newspaper that the man driving the blue car, was actually the boyfriend, of one of the ladies who were in the Impala and the women were actually waiting for this guy to finish working on the race car.

PLEASE....for your safety and the safety of EVERYBODY around, PLEASE keep the speed on a race track, and NOT on a public road. ProT.
