Hi, this is my Volvo after my mate from Germany collided head-on with a Western Star Road Train on a Gold Coast Hinterland Road
in Queensland, Australia. He walked away with only minor injuries
(cuts to his head and shoulder). As you can see from the pictures
he is very lucky to have survived. The driver side front seat
(Right Hand Drive - Australia) is the only part of the car that's
still intact, everything else, including the back seat has been
destroyed.
My friend was wearing a seatbelt, and I'm lucky I and my girlfriend
didn't go with him (as we had originally planned). We still don't
know how it happened, my friend has permanent memory loss of
the whole day. The truck driver's version of the event is incoherent,
it is suspected the trucky was high on speed/amphetamines. Damage
to the Western Star was AU$50,000+
