Toyota Corolla vs Cow
This accident happend on 28 June 2008.
It was about 5am on the R45 between Malmesbury and Hopefield, Western Cape South Africa.
The Driver of this Toyota Corolla was driving towards Hopefield when they hit a cow in the early hours of the day.
Both occupants were fine. One had a small cut on his forehead.
The cow did not make it. Although it could still driveable this was the end of the road for the Corolla as well.
I came accros this accident on 28 June 2008 at about 7am. The accident happend on the R45 halfway between Hopefield and Malmesbury in South Africa at about 6 am. The car was a white Toyota Corolla. The driver and his passenger was driving towards Hopefield in the early hours of the morning when they hit a stray cow. The cow went over the roof of the car and was the only fatality. The passenger suffered a minor cut and both had the shock of their lives. The driver told me that when they hit the cow the car started sliding sideways and they were
heading for a row of trees next to the road. He somehow managed to gain control and stop the car. It was still dark when the accident
happened(winter in SA). The only windows not broken on the car was the driver's door and the rear door on the driver side.(right hand drive car) The car was actually still drivable but the driver was to shook up to drive further and also did not want to change it with a battery leakin acid.Submitted by
