It hadn’t rained in months, this night there was a light drizzle, which apparently lifted the oil on the highway making the road condition dangerous there were three accidents from hydroplaning this night in our area within 1 hour. My 17 y/o son was on his way home traveling about 50 mph when he hydroplaned, turning the vehicle backwards then sideways, coming to a stop hitting a tree on the drivers side, unbelievably my son received only minor bruising and his passenger had a piece of glass lodged above his eye socket without damage to the eye and a laceration to the rear of his head, a miracle these two boys walked away! I just sent and e-mail on my sons accident I forgot to include the time and date which was Friday April 18-2008 @ 11:20 pm, they were also wearing their seatbelts, and it was a 1999 mustang. also, here are more photos , thanks Rhonda S.

I would not allow my child to buy another Mustang. I had one many years ago and also used one on a rental a couple of years ago. They are NOT safe. They have no weight in the rear end and slip & slide in the mildest of weather. Sure, they are an eye catcher but not worth risking your life or your childs life over. When I was in my Mustang, it wasn't raining but it had. The road was wet. I came to a slight curve in the road, knowing the curve was coming I had even slowed down. My Mustang slid into the guardrail and scraped along it for about 25 feet. Luckily it hit just above the rear passenger wheel well and did hardly any damage to my car BUT there were 4 of us in the car and we could have all been killed had any traffic been behind us. When the car slid into the guard rail, it bounced off, the car made 2 complete 360 degree turns and we ended up facing the wrong direction in our lanes. It terrified all of us. I sold that car and would NEVER drive a Mustang ever again...even if a brand new one was given to me for free...including life-time free fuel!!! They are death traps...accidents waiting to happen.
