A friend of ours was driving home one early morning in his 2005 Nissan Xterra, after having been up all night with friends. At about 9:00am he was driving on a blvd. in Tijuana, México, and fell asleep at the wheel. He hit a Pontiac Grand Prix with a family inside it, who were stopped at a red light signal. The mother, who was in the back seat, died instantly from whiplash. Though police reports show he was NOT intoxicated at the time of the crash, our friend is still in jail for negligent manslaughter.
