This accident happened on December 11, 2006 Denton/Greensboro,
Md My mom and I were on our way home from my school when this
happened. I had my learner's permit and I wanted to drive really
bad that day and then I discovered that I didn't have my permit
with me. I was actually considering driving without it that day,
what a huge mistake that would have been.
I was studying on the way home (exam week) and my Mom was driving.
We were on rt. 404 and we were approaching a traffic light. I
wasn't really paying attention but my Mom was watching everything
that was about to happen.
If you were traveling the opposite direction on this highway
and wanted to go left you would have to YIELD to on coming traffic.
We were in the right hand lane traveling at about 50mph and this
women in Ford Expedition was inching out into on coming traffic.
If she hurried she would miss everyone but she wasn't doing that
at all. She was going slowly throught the light and when she
saw my Mom and I coming she floored it. My Mom was expecting
her to come so she had already started breaking but there was
no way we were gonna miss her. i remember my my Mom saying"We're
gonna hit!" and then she braced herself from the impact.
We hit the lady on her back tire and sent her rolling in the
opposite direction. Her SUV ended up on it's side and our little
Toyota Echo was totaled. I was really shaken and I just got the
hell out of the car. My door had been crushed and I had to push
hard to get out. My Mom and I were ok. The next day she had major
whiplash and had to go to physical therap y for 3 months. The
only injury I sustained was from my seat belt. We hit so hard
it sliced the skin on my neck. It was more like a rug burn than
anything but it stung BAD!!
Anyway...the most horrible thing was my Mom wanted to sue her
and we never found her. She was taken to the hospital from the
scene of the accident. The plates were foney and the SUV wasn't
claimed after the fact.
WEAR SEATBELTS AND ALSO GET THE PERSON'S INFO RIGHT THERE>EVEN
IF THE COP SAYS "I'LL TAKE CARE OF IT!!!" We lost about
30,000 due to damage and hospital bills!!!!!!!!!!!!
