Came across your website and thought it was pretty cool, so
I thought I would share my experience with you.
It was the second last week of Jan 2007, I had picked up a load
from southeast of Cleveland Ohio and was heading back to Ontario
Canada where I'm from when I drove into a nasty lake effect snowstorm
along the I 90 that streched from about Austinburg Oh. to the
NY state line. By the time I got Erie Pa. it was whiteout conditions.
I just passed the 29 exit and I came across vehicles that were
only going about 10 mph so I pulled out and started to pass.
Things were going good doing about 45-50 mph when I passed the
32 exit and you start going down a hill when i noticed some trucks
that didn't seem to be moving. Then I saw the pick-up truck in
front of me slam into the back of a stopped flatbed truck and
relized I'm in trouble. I slamed on the brakes and didn't hit
anything or anyone and managed to keep my truck on the roadway.
I was stuck in the middle of this mess for about 8.5 hrs before
emergency crewa got the highway behind me cleaned up enough so
I could back up and get going. I learned later that 1 person
lost their life in this accident. Mike B.
