Hello my name is Kyle and this is the second accident I posted here (love the website). The first one is here at:
http://car-accidents.com/2007-auto-crash-story/8-5-07-volvo-pic.html.
The car involved in this wreck was my sisters car at the time but now she has a new one and she gave this one to me. It is a
1994 nissan altima. Her new car is the
2000 ford explorer sport. I am only 15 and i have 2 cars. My other car is the
green explorer. The crash happened at 1 am on christmas eve 2007.
So here is the story: The night before the accident My sister Brittney, her friend Stefanie (basically my second sister), and me were talking about how the roads were slick and Stefanie mentioned that she never learned what to do when the car starts sliding, so we decided to teach stef what to do. The night of the accident we were driving around on back roads and let stef go around corners a little fast so she would slide and correct it. Stefanie did amazing, she learned fast, and could correct it very well. Right as we finished up my sisters other friend(who will remain nameless, or we'll just call him Sean) called us up and wanted to hang with us. Once we met at takeaway, he asked my sister if he could drive so that he could learn too(even though he knew how to correct a slide).
Sean started driving and right off the bat it was apparant that sean was too confident in his driving because he was going way to fast and was acting like an idiot. Right as we were going up this curvy hill called the college hill, me having almost wrecked a car on the same road, immediatly i told him that i didn't like this road because it was too dangerous to drive on like an idiot. As we were goin up the road i had a gut feeling that something bad was going to happen. Right at the summit of the hill, while he was doing 30 mph, sean decides he wanted to turn into a parking lot without slowing down. The end result was the car smashing into a
rock solid snow bank, driving halfway up it at a 45 degree angle. Sure enough a cop was driving right behind us and witnessed the hole thing happen. So we backed off the snow bank and pulled into the parkinglot where we inspected the damage. The snow bank obliverated the front right of the bumper and bowed the fender. The nice part was that the cop didn't ticket us which we were lucky for because sean could have gotten a wreckless driving charge and i could have gotten in trouble for being out and hour after my curfew because I was only 15 at the time. All i could say when the cops asked us what happened was
"those damn snowbanks!" which made them laugh, thank god lol.
