This accident occured in the left lane of Route 93 North leaving Boston. There was heavy traffic traveling at speeds of 75-80, that slowed and sped up in an accordian like pattern. I have witnessed this before. I think it is caused by drivers speeding up as fast as they can- in heavy traffic rather than maintaining a steady rate of speed. Anyway in Massachusetts people ignore basic traffic rules and regularly drive 5 feet or less from the car in front of them at highway speeds ( the Offical Mass drivers manuel advises drivers to keep at least one car length of space per 10mph of speed). When this rule is ignored you get the above crash: this actually involved about 5 vehicles but I only took pictures of the main crash a F-250 into a mini van. The minivan driver was having whiplash issues but was relatively ok. I called police asked if everyone was Ok and took these pics before heading on my way. Don't Tailgate!

It seems very strange to me that in this crash the 'minivan' (which is actually a Cheverolet Trailblazer SUV) appears to have so little damage compared to the Ford F-150, which is completely destroyed.
