Hi, This is or was my Dodge Stealth ES (1992 model), a beautiful
car I must say.
I had this terrific accident, on the motor-way in the South of
Spain, at about 5am Sunday 22nd April 2007. I was at the time
by myself, thank god there was no one sat on the front passengers
seat, as there was most of the impact.
Only a week ago I had a new clutch and 18 inch alloy wheels,
uniroyal rain weather tyres put on and whilst driving home that
morning a heard a lot of rattling coming from the front left
engine area. I stopped the vehicle and check the engine compartment.
I noticed that the nuts to the air filter had not been screwed
in properly and further more the NUTS to the front left wheel
were loose. I could literrally unscrew them with my finger with
the exception of one, which was well tighten.
Anyway I tightened the wheel nuts and replaced the nut to the
airfilter mounting. But that unaware to me, were not the only
nuts or whatever you call them tightened!!!
I continued driving along the motor-way 80mph only, and on taking
a right bend I suddenly felt very strong vibrations coming from
now the right wheel causing the steeering wheel to vibrate and shake heavily. I lost
total steering, I just touched the brake pad which sent my car
into a horrific number of spins. I felt a number of loud bangs
on my right side and the next thing I remember was waking up
in hospital with cuts all over my forehead,
right arm and right leg.
I dont know exactly what caused the right wheel to vibrate as
it did but I will be paying the mechanic a visit this week as
I suspect he has a NUT loose in the head and doesnt know what
he is doing. Thank god I'm alive Adrian
