I was making my way to work on January 3rd, first day of work
for the year, I had purchased a 2006 Colorado in July, and had
if for a few months. The truck had the ZQ8 Sport suspension package,
and I had installed a tonneau cover, seat covers, a spray in
bed liner. I really happy with everything about the truck.
When I left my house in the morning, there were police lights
on the road my house is on, but the opposite way I was headed,
there are lots of accidents on my road so I thought nothing of
it. I head to work noticing its just a little slick sometimes
but the sun was coming up so I thought it should be melting the
frost off the roads. I get about 10 miles from home and going
down a road I had traveled dozens of times. All I can remember
is fishtailing to the left into the other lane and seeing a car
headed towards me, next thing I remember is someone asking me
questions and I was in an ambulance. I guess when I got to the
hospital, all was doing was asking for my girlfriend (she was
at home).
I ended up having no broken bones, and no other injuries besides
a scrape on my right leg, a very large bruise, and a concussion.
I had $23000 in medical bills, Insurance has covered most of
that and I still have not received the final bill yet. my truck
was in great shape with 15000 miles on it. I drove an abnormally
large amount that summer. I owed just over $18000 on it still
and insurance only gave me $14500 so I am stuck with paying it
off now. I was wearing my seatbelt and the airbag went off.
there is one picture of my truck before the crash and the rest
are of the accident taken by the owner of the house I crashed
in front of.
