This accident occurred on a cold, clear, dark morning in December.
The accident happened on a highway 50 km north of Toronto, Ontario,
Canada.
I was stopped at a light waiting for a car to turn right. I was
hit from behind in my 1990 cavalier Z24 by a Ford F350 Cube Van
traveling 100 km/h. The driver of the Van told me at the scene
that he did not see me, nor was he paying attention. The entire
trunk section of the car was pushed inside the rear of the passenger
compartment on impact. The force of the impact jarred my left
arm upwards causing me to turn the car sideways as it was pushed
forward. My car then hit a 2007 Chevrolet Impala directly in
front of me.
Unbelievably, I was basically unhurt. I had a torn jacket
sleeve from my arm going through the driver's side window and
a stiff neck. More fortunately, I was the only person in the
car. Anyone in the back seat would have surely perished.
