I was only in the hospital for about a week and a half with a broken back...

My name is Patrick McKee im 17 years old. I live in Ottawa,
Ontario I was driving a 1998 Plymouth Breeze(i think they have
to be one of the safest cars out there)
On April 14th 2001, i was on my way home at around 3am after
i had been working all day on friday after being out late the
night before that, so I was really tired. And about a mile away
from my house i fell asleep and went off the road into a rockcut
at about 180km/h rolling the car a number of times before comming
to a stop. I dont remember anything but waking up to see rocks
in front of me then a really hard hit then it was all over, I
was knocked out i guess for about 2 hours then sat there in enormouse
amounts of pain waiting for someone to find me. I tryed to put
the car in park and turn the key off but it wouldnt come out
of drive and the key wouldnt move at all so then i kinda thought
maybe I messed my moms new car up pretty damn good after waiting
there for about an hour and a half I saw lights commig but the
guy slowed down and just drove right by!! After about another
45mins another guy drove by and stoped, he was a volunteer firefighter
on his way to work, so then after another 25mins the paramedics
and police everybody was there(after like 4 hours of waiting)
but then it took them another 45mins to an hour to get me out
of the car with the jaws of life!
Well in he end I was only in the hospital for about a week and
a half with a broken back, and that was it...well and a scratch
on my middle finger! The only really S#*$$# thing was that the
police charged me with careless driving-6 points(ouch)but thats
still in court so well see... I had to wear a back brace until
the 2nd week of september but now 9 months after i am almost
back to normal with some pain but i guess thats expected, at
least I can walk. Thank god i was wearing a seatbelt!
The only really S#*$$# thing about this whole thing was that
the police charged me with careless driving-6 points(ouch)but
thats still in court so well see...
