I'm not sure photos do justice. This is a 1993 Subaru Loyale, tough as a brick, now totalled. Cruising through bangor maine by the dump site on I-95. Car 1 was an erratic camaro driver, two tone mid 1980s car. while keeping on eye on him wandering, I attempted to get by. Passed under the bridge at Dysarts Truck Stop exit, and lo and behold a worst case scenario I have never encountered in 20 years. A little honda accord going well below the speed limit with extra dim lights on. Came up like a wall out of darkness, and I was only doing 60s mph in my 90 horsepower subaru. Squeezed between the honda and the erratic camaro was the 2 millisecond plan.
The Honda on my right went by fast I heard a thud, and as it turned out it was our mirrors touching at my 65 mph, the honda 30 something mph (or even less). The camaro on the left sent my drivers side mirror the other direction, as he was doing well into the 70s for unknown reason and we scraped sides. I was sent into a sideways skid on good dry road for quite a way.. then slammed into guard rail totalling car. For thius model car to bend like it is, takes quite a freak hit (80s rally car mentality built by Subaru).The camaro was never found, nor pursued. I have what seems to be a permanent knee injury a year later. Police that didn't listen, an old lady driving a non-highway worthy vehicle and a car I had to keep unresolved because of the lack of pursuit of facts. Be careful out there indeed, even the law can be a screw up like a crazy driver. BGD
