This happened Oct 19th near Jonesburg Missouri on Hwy Y. Ironically I was on my way to bow hunt that day. In my 2001 Jeep Cherokee I just came off a couple of curves and started accelerating up to about 45 mph. Suddenly I saw 2 deer a buck and a doe. The doe was right next to the buck then the last second darted back to the woods but her boyfriend stood his ground. I hit him broadside perfectly. He spun to the ditch on the right and I can hear my big tires screeching to a halt. This was about 5:30 in the morning and still dark. But I could see the buck try to get up once but he expired quickly. I started my jeep up and it was making an awful noise. My radiator was pushed into my fan and my serpentine belt and a whole list of other items had busted. I called the conservation agent to report the deer and to claim it. He was a beautiful 9 pointer. I dressed him and put him in the back of my jeep. While waiting for the tow truck I lost count of how many people stopped to check on me. Country people are the best.
