Elderly Driver: Head On Crash

This crash was recently in the news. An elderly driver was killed and four people were hospitalized early Saturday when the 87-year-old driver entered Highway 50 going the wrong way and slammed head on into another vehicle.
California Highway Patrol officers said it looked like Albert
Carl Muller who was 87, became disoriented around 1:15 a.m. Saturday
and began driving the wrong way: westbound in
the eastbound lanes of Highway 50 west of Sunrise Boulevard.
The elderly driver nearly hit a Sacramento County Sheriff's car
as well as a Police car before colliding head-on with a van traveling
eastbound.
Muller was pronounced dead at the scene and Four people in the van were taken to the U.C. Davis Medical Center and Mercy General Hospital with injuries.
Muller might have been confused the police said, and that alcohol or drugs did not appear to play a role in the accident.
