These photos were taken on April 17 in Springfield Mass.  This cruiser was responding to another Officers call for assistance in a stolen car pursuit with lights and sirens activated, when another car pulled out in front of the cruiser, hitting the passenger side of the car, knocking it into a curbing on the drivers side, bending the rim.  Fortunately, neither Officer was seriously injured, but I assume that the other driver ended up getting a ticket. Yes, other drivers often do not yield to motorists who pull over for ambulances or emergency vehicles. The drivers arriving after those who have pulled over ( and who do not allow those who pulled over back into traffic) pretend to be "unaware", but that is not really the case they obviously have seen the ambulance and the others drivers who have conscientiously pulled to the side they just have no courtesy or class. (Such apparently as this Nissan driver) Watch out!!! This just happened to me the other day and I avoided a near collision. Editor BK 4/15/08
