Mustang Crash: Goes Airborne
Windsor, Ontario
I flipped over two lanes of traffic, landed in a tree where it ripped most of the front end of the car off, then I fell to the ground and rolled into a ditch.

Michigan). A woman in a minivan, who was apparently not paying attention, forced my car off the road to the left, my rear tires swung around on the gravel shoulder, returning to the road and acting as brakes; sending my car hurdling in the air end-over end. I flipped over two lanes of traffic, landed in a tree where it ripped most of the front end of the car off, then I fell to the ground and rolled into a ditch. Amazingly, I walked from this accident! If one were to black-out the windows in this car, hide the airbag and broken glass - you'd never be able to tell from the interior that it was ever in an accident. I - much like other stories I've read on your site - immediately called my girlfriend after the paramedic's checked me out. I calmly told her I'd been in an accident and needed her to come get me; we went into the hospital, I was checked out - and nothing broken or seemingly damaged. Not to say I wasn't sore for the next few days, but anyone who's seen the wreck, or even pictures of it can't believe it.
Not a day goes by anymore, that I don't thank the engineers, and most of all the dedicated, hard-working people who built this car as well as they did. If it weren't for them I've no doubt in my mind that I wouldn't still be here today. So to pay tribute to the workers in the Ford Michigan assembly plant - thank you.
Also - if I may make a suggestion, the ability to search for stories/pictures on your site by vehicle type would be really good --
Nathan V.

Hello Car-Accidents.com...I just wanted to comment on the "Mustang Goes Airborne" story submitted on 17 April, 2007...My mom worked for Cotton States Insurance and one customer who has a policy w/ the company filed a claim about his Scion xB...he was driving on a highway and started entering the passing lane when a speeding car going almost twice the speed limit decided he wouldn't let the Scion enter the lane until he had passed...the speeding car slammed the Scion's left side, sending it rolling end-over-end and laterally off the roadway, over the edge of a 60-or-so-foot embankment, when it slammed head-long into a tree 60-or-so feet above the ground and after bouncing off the tree, fell to the ground and rolled some more and came to rest against a 2nd tree...driver walks away w/ only minor cuts and bruises (the Scion's engine was shoved under the chassis and the hood slid up over the windshield and up onto the roof, leaving the dashboard completely intact. Toyota and Ford alike really know what makes a safe car! (That is a shame that a Mustang as nice as yours got demolished) Best regards, Andrew posted May 14, 2007
