This is what happens when a Porsche hits a flying bird speeding
at 260km. The force broke the windshield (which I might add is
quite a bit of force). By a mircle no one was in the passenger
seat- the chicken or game bird would have literally taken their
head off. The bird died. Very nice web site you have here !!!

10/18/06: Anyone know how much force is required? It would seem
that the bird should have bounced off- the set of circumstances
that led to this accident seem uncommon. Very scary, but awesome
images.

Me and two friends of mine where riding around one night went
down a back road and was just riding slowing, due to animals
and stuff. Well a huge turkey flew into the side of my car. Put
a dent in the side of my car. When the turkey hit, it looked
like a firework exploding. Feathers went everywhere. Too bad
it wasn't Thanksgiving.
Around here (Reading, Pa) we've had several incedences of kids throwing simple rocks of a bridge that goes over a highway with a speed limit of 55mph and they've caused serious injuries and even a death. now considering the fact that the rocks were about the size of a childs fist or smaller. So medium sized bird going through the windsheild at, get this, 161mph, could easily penetrate a windsheild. The forces involved are high and quite honestly scary. The pictures alone speak of the force. chicken puree anyone??
PS note to editor: love the site, i've always loved to look at car accidents and cars in general and like ot walk down to the local tow truck center to look at the wrecked cars. i'll submit some pictures of them sometime. Posted 9/19/07 "~Josh~"
