She had just left her parents house in Oxford, Ohio. She had
turned on Somerville Road which was headed towards Oxford, Ohio.
She came to the first blind curve on the road and at the same
time a car with three 18 year old boys came flying around the
corner at about 60 Mph. The young man's car failed to negotiate
the curve and the car came across the center line and struck
my wife's car at nearly head-on. There were no skid marks because
the boy never touched his brakes. His car was sliding out of
control at the point of impact.
The boy has been in a coma for 7 days now. His two passengers
walked away with minor injuries. My wife broke her pelvis in
5 places and her left hip was dislocated. It took 35 minutes
to be extracted from the car( my wife). My three year old son
was in the car also. He suffered his his jaw broken in three
places and having all his lower front out. They had to put a
titanium plate in my son's chin, this to get everything to line
up properly.
They put the plate in his chin by going through underneth his
tongue. This way the small boy will have no scar.
My wife had to have two steel plates put in her hip to repair
her pelvis. In addition, her left femur had to be put back into
the hip socket.
