On January 9, 2001 around 830am, I was on an early morning breakfast
break from work, on my way to get something to eat. The day before
it had snowed, and the roads were sandy, and a little wet/slick.
Coming down the hill, about 30MPH, in a 25MPH zone, a Chevy S-10
pulled out right in front of me. I slammed my breaks as he did
that, and at that time, the car ahead (Mercury Sable) stopped
right in my path to let someone pull out of a driveway, and there
was nothing I could do. My Neon skidded right into the car at
about 25MPH right on sand, so it didn't slow down. It ended up
causing alot of damage to my car. The only damage to the Mercury
was a cracked rear bumper. Insurance took care of it, and no
one in the other car were injured.
*DOESNT LOOK TOTALLED!!!!! BUT IT WAS!!!!!!!! DARN IT!!!!!!! I just got new hubcaps from JC Whitney also a week before...
THE FACTS: The airbags BOTH deployed, Passanger window shattered due to impact, Hurt my wrist with airbag, achey back, neck and shoulders and was an hour and a half late back from my break (I CALLED ON MY CELLPHONE to explain the problem) Thank God, the cop gave me a ride back to work, but I did get a warning for traveling to fast for conditions. (now i know...) I was a new driver (age 17) and started driving the spring of 2000.
A few days later, I was called saying the Neon was totalled, and within a week, ALLSTATE sent a check and I got a Dodge Stratus instead. I LIKE CHRYSLER PRODUCTS, BUT NEONS STINK (sorry!), the older ones, the new ones are Hot.
