I had just bought my "Go-Kart" as I liked to call it (it was a 2000 Hyundai Accent GL 4 door. Only had 21000 miles on it and i went through a whole bunch of crap to get the loan so i was happy as hell to finally be able to call it mine. Not even 2 months after i got it it was totaled! I got stuck at work 2 hours later than normal so the day already sucked. Im finally to my freeway exit to get home. There was an accident that they were clearing out so the exit lane was backed way up (my exit has a whole lane to itself).
I was sitting there in traffic at a complete stop when next thing i know im spinning around and stop in the middle of the freeway facing the wrong direction...just in time to see a car hit me head on. I was rear ended by some dude in a van and he hit me so hard i was spun out. Luckily the worst injury i obtained was blow to my checkbook for the hospital and ambulance bills. The cops and firefighters insisted on throwing me in an ambulance even though i said i was fine. I was sore as hell the next day but fine for the most part.
The worst part about this is the guy who hit me "claimed" that someone else hit him or cut him off or something and took off and that it wasn't his fault. NO ONE else seen this "other vehicle" nor was it mentioned in the police report...but this guys insurance company must have some really good lawyers cuz to this day (7 months later) my insurance company has not been able to get them to pay... i still have yet to retrieve my $1000 deductible. I learned 2 lessons though.......lower deductible and add rental car coverage. I always thought that since i was a safe driver nothing would ever happen to me. I know better now.
