Hi, Location: Islambad, Pakistan
Car: Toyota Corolla 2003 This happened on 27th Nov 2005. My mom
was driving the car at about 60mph when the front left tire blew
up. She obviously lost control and hit the centre divider head
on. For some reason the Air bag didnt deploy but she was wearing
her seat belt which saved her that day and she sustained no injuries
what so ever. But still she was taken to the hospital for X-ray
and was kept under observation and was able to go home the next
day. The engine block had moved and the frame was bent. The car
got totalled :( , It was my sweetheart. but what the heck.....
.
It later turned out that one of the cat eyes had a sharp edge
and the moment she drove over it, she turned the wheel to avoid
the others, this caused the tire to blow up. So much for road
safety equipment........ You can see the chunk of rubber missing
from the wheel in the picture.
