On aug,11 2003 at 1:30a.m. my friend hit a construction zone
on I-95 in Darien,CT. He was doing about 50 mph. He lost control
of his Ford Escort. After fishtailing several times we were broadsided
by a tractor trailer doing 50mph (the driver never saw us).
The truck jack-knifed and rolled over. On impact our car went
airborne and also rolled over only to be stopped suddenly by
a lightpole and a tree. When I opened my eyes I saw that the
truck had landed on top of the car. I felt my face and hands
burning.
More importantly I realized that I was alive. We had exited the
car through the rear window only to find that none of the bystanders
had checked the trucker. I ran over to the front of the truck
and pulled him out of the wreckage. I don't know what ever happened
to him after that but thanks to SEATBELTS nobody was killed.
And if anybody cares..........until that day I was a tractor
trailer driver. GOD BLESS ALL AND HAVE A SAFE TRIP...........................PLEASE
