My 1999 Volkswagen Jetta was parked across the street from my house. I had parked it there because we had company over and there was no room for my car in the driveway or in front of my house. We were sitting in my living room talking when we heard the crash. I asked what happened and someone said "Looks like some girl just hit your neighbors green car." I looked out the window and saw excactly what you see in the first picture. I replied "Thats not the neighbors car."
The girl driving the Olds Alero had dropped a piece of paper and bent down to pick it up. She then struck my car directly on the left rear tire. It completely destroyed the rear axle and sent a ripple through the metal along the entire left side of my car. My car was moved a good 20ft from where I parked it to where it rested after the crash. Her car had the front right tire completely sheared off and hanging by the brake lines. Both cars were totaled as her airbags also deployed. No injuries resulted from this accident.
When I got my Jetta it was the first car I had financed. I
didn't have too much credit and decided to only keep the Jetta
for a year just to build credit to be able to get financed for
a car I really wanted. I had the Jetta for 307 days before the
accident. It did increase my credit and I got rid of it easily.
I had full coverage insurance and GAP insurance that covered
the entire cost of the car. The Jetta accomplished what I needed
it for. I hated that car but sure will miss it. When: August 5 2005
