I was driving in my 2003 BMW 325xi with about 10,000 miles
on it. I was stopped at a light on a major road in Baltimore,
Maryland. When the light turned green, without hesitating I went
thru the green light. When I did this, I saw a red Jeep Cherokee
fly thru the red. After that, I heard a humungus BANG! It sounded
like two dumpters slamming into each other. After all the smoke
went away, the hood of my car was wrecked, the Jeep's roof was
totaled and there was a Chevrolete Monte Carlo in the turning
lane with a shattered front window.
I then got out of my car and there I saw a fire Truck and two
ambulances coming down the road. After I got out of my car, the
man in the Jeep got out of his car not injured but dazed over
what happened. About five minutes after that, the man in the
Monte Carlo got out just fine. About two months later, the accidents
was considered 1% my fault. The Maryland law is that the accident
has to be 100% the other person fault to win the case. The damage
on my BMW was $12,000, the Monte Carlo had $5,000 and the Jeep
was considered totaled. Overall, my BMW held up great for getting
side-struck at 60mph in a 30mph zone. I would recommed this car
for anyone. I am still drving it today with 55,000 miles on it.
